Hydrogen from the air. No water line required.

Standard electrolysis requires a dedicated water supply. Meridian Pi extracts moisture directly from the atmosphere -- eliminating the water logistics problem and making hydrogen production possible anywhere on earth with sufficient humidity.

Atmospheric Hydrogen Solar Generation Energy Storage Fuel Cell Dispatch Gigabit Fiber Carbon Capture
The Process

Air in. Hydrogen out. Four stages.

The atmospheric hydrogen generation process converts ambient air moisture into 99.999% pure hydrogen through extraction, purification, electrolysis, and compression. No external feedstock. No supply chain. No logistics.

1
Atmospheric Moisture Extraction

Air is drawn into the system and moisture is extracted through a proprietary dehumidification process. The system operates continuously as long as ambient humidity meets the minimum threshold.

Minimum 17% RH -- optimal 40-90% RH Operating range 40°F - 120°F
2
Water Purification

Extracted moisture is purified to ASTM D1193-06 Type IV specification before entering the electrolyzer. Type II or III purity is recommended for optimal electrolysis performance. Water recovered from fuel cell dispatch is captured and recirculated back to this stage -- closing the loop.

ASTM D1193-06 Type IV minimum Closed-loop water recovery from fuel cell output
3
Electrolysis

Purified water is fed to the electrolyzer, which splits water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen using electrical current. Input power is fuel-agnostic -- solar, wind, grid, or any combination. The system scales production with available power.

99.999% hydrogen purity Fuel-agnostic power input
4
Compression and Storage

Produced hydrogen is compressed and stored in Type IV carbon fiber composite pressure vessels. Storage capacity is sized to the facility's load profile and required autonomy duration.

Where It Works

Deployable anywhere. Advantaged in specific conditions.

Coastal and Humid Climates

High atmospheric humidity provides abundant feedstock, maximizing extraction rates and reducing reliance on closed-loop water recovery. Ideal conditions for maximum production.

Remote and Off-Grid Sites

No water supply infrastructure required. No fuel logistics. Containerized and deployable in locations where conventional hydrogen production is simply not possible.

Military and Tactical Deployments

Air-droppable configurations with 72-hour deployment to initial operating capability. No supply chain dependency. DoD-validated platform with AFWERX recognition.

AI Data Centers

Modular production scales with facility load. No interconnection queue. No utility dependency. Power certainty from day one on qualified sites.

Industrial Campuses

On-site hydrogen production eliminates demand charges and utility pricing exposure. Carbon capture configurations available for net-zero operations and §45Q credit qualification.

Government and Emergency Operations

No single point of failure. No fuel delivery logistics. 30+ days autonomous endurance without any external input. Mission continuity in any grid condition.
